Mass Extension
Artist overview
Mass Extension belongs squarely in the mid-1980s Go-Go industry story. A 1985 Washington Post feature described the act as a family band, while Billboard reported Mass Extension as one of the T.T.E.D. artists included in Maxx Kidd’s Island/4th & B’Way distribution push. “Happy Feet” became the group’s best-known commercial title and remains a useful bridge between the live circuit and the record-business campaign to take Go-Go national.

The collector list contains a separate “MASS EXTINCTION” section with dates from 1980 through 1986 and a 2004 reunion. Because period press uses Mass Extension, those entries are treated as probable but not automatically merged without provenance review.

Connections
Mass Extension is a perfect example of the website’s “music + evidence” approach. A visitor can discover “Happy Feet,” then immediately see the label campaign, the live-circuit evidence and even the spelling problem in the surviving tape culture. That is more historically useful than a clean but oversimplified biography.
