Class Band
Artist overview
Class Band is one of the clearest examples of an important early Go-Go act that can disappear from a modern overview if the surviving PA-tape trail is ignored. The I AM GO-GO working catalog begins with a 1980 Dupont Circle lead and becomes especially dense in 1984–85 across clubs, schools, parks and skating-rink circuits. A public Old School Go-Go catalog independently preserves numerous Class Band recordings from 1983–86, while promoter Steven Blush recalls recording the band with Dave Rubin in 1985.

Live & PA archive
The archive separates the private working list from public collector catalogs. Matching venue/year entries strengthen the existence of a circulated recording trail, but they do not automatically prove that two differently labeled copies are the same source tape.
Timeline
Dupont Circle appears in the private live catalog; kept as a research lead rather than a formation date.
Old School Go-Go lists an Atlas Theater recording, followed by a much denser 1984–85 run.
The surviving catalogs place Class Band repeatedly at clubs, schools, parks and recreation/skating venues around the D.C. region.
Steven Blush recalls recording Class Band with promoter Dave Rubin.
Z Records includes “Welcome to the Go-Go” on Go Go Get Down.
Class Band & Show ReUnion (Live) preserves a later full-length performance set.

Connections
Class Band connects several I AM GO-GO research lanes at once: the early-1980s neighborhood/venue circuit, the PA-tape economy, promoter-side documentation through Dave Rubin, and the later preservation of classic Go-Go repertoire on compilations and reunion recordings. That combination is why the band now belongs in the public directory rather than remaining only in a tape list.
