WhoSampled Go-Go℠

FOLLOW
THE REUSE.

A growing research layer tracing samples, interpolations, covers, remixes, replays and other documented connections involving Go-Go recordings.

Census in progressVerified totals not published yet
Version 1 rule: I AM GO-GO™ will not advertise a fixed database total until the census supports it. Research leads can be preserved while verification continues.

Research anchors

Two source recordings with deep research already underway.

Research anchor

Ashley’s Roachclip

The Soul Searchers

This record anchors an extensive reuse research trail. Version 1 opens the source-record page while the detailed census continues to be verified. Old School GoGo is preserved as one community-history lead noting the recording’s extensive reuse; the I AM GO-GO™ census remains independent.

Research anchor

Bustin’ Loose

Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers

The project is documenting reuse, timestamps, source links and outside artists while keeping direct samples, interpolations, covers and other uses distinct.

Version 1 public records

Open the source-record trails.

The working census now has dedicated public pages for selected documented records. A public page is not a claim that the source record is finished.

Research queue

Bustin’ Loose — leads still being checked

Several former queue items have moved onto the documented public record page. The items below remain in the lead lane until the working census supports promotion.

Movement matters: the living database should visibly move an item from lead → documented → verified as the evidence gets stronger, rather than leaving old research status frozen forever.

How an entry is handled

Research status stays visible instead of being hidden.

1. Identify

Source recording, reuse recording, artist, year and type of connection.

2. Verify

Check audio/video evidence and reliable documentation. Add timestamps when supported.

3. Connect

Link the source song to artists, history and related archive records.

Verification language

Verified

Evidence checked and supported.

Documented lead

Credible trail; deeper confirmation still underway.

Needs verification

Preserved so the lead is not lost.

Research in progress

Active census work, not yet a final public claim.

Living research

The numbers can change as the evidence grows.

That is why Version 1 emphasizes documented records and research status rather than a marketing number.
